Opening Ceremony of Malawi-Korea Information Access Center was held

The Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Yoo Young-min) and the National Information Society Agency (NIA, President Moon Yong-sik) announced that the Korea-Malawi Information Access Center (IAC) was officially opened in Lilongwe on Dec 3rd, 2018, in the capital of Malawi.

• A total of 50 people, including President of National Information Society Agency, Moon Yong-sik, Ambassador (Embassy of Republic of Korea to Zimbabwe), Cho Jae-chul, who also serves as Ambassador for Malawi, Vice Minister of Information and Communication Technology of Malawi, Vice Minister of Education and Human Resources Development of Malawi, and President of the Malawi Institute of Management, have presented in the inauguration ceremony of Korea-Malawi Information Access Center(IAC).

• With the establishment of the Korea-Malawi Information Access Center, Malawi has a comprehensive ICT education facility equipped with Internet lounge dedicated to the disabled, information service education facilities for the poor ICT education environment in Malawi, contents production rooms, seminar rooms, and operator offices that can produce their own educational contents.

• Construction of the information access center has taken its initiatives by NIA since 2002 as part of the Ministry of Science and ICT's ODA project to improve the developing country's information-use environment, and 56 centers in 48 countries have been established so far, leading the development of ICT experts and digital divide in developing countries.

NIA President Moon Yong-sik said, "The Malawi-Korea Information Access Center will improve Malawi's Internet access environment, contribute to the development of a virtuous ecosystem that contributes to the export of talented human resources and economic development of Malawi through ICT education, and hope that the two countries will be reborn as closer neighbors through diverse communication and cooperation through the center.“


Opening Ceremony of El Salvador-Korea Information Access Center was held

The Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Yoo Young-min) and the National Information Society Agency (NIA, Executive Vice President Kim Jang Joo) announced on the December 19th, 2018 (in Korea time) and that the El Salvador-Korea Information Access Center (IAC) was opened in Zacatecoluca, El Salvador.

• A total consists of 50 people, including Councilor (Embassy of Republic of Korea to El Salvador), Kim, Dae Hwan, Minister of Education of El Salvador, Vice Minister of Science and Technology of El Salavdor, and President of the MEGATEC, were present to celebrate the launch of the information access center.

• With the establishment of the El-Salvador-Korea Information Access Center, El Salvador has a comprehensive ICT education facility equipped with Internet lounge dedicated to the disabled, information service education facilities for the poor ICT education environment in El Salvador, contents production rooms, seminar rooms, and operator offices that can produce their own educational contents.

NIA Executive Vice President Kim Jang Joo said, "The El Salvador-Korea Information Access Center will improve El Salvador's Internet access environment, contribute to the development of a virtuous ecosystem that contributes to the export of talented human resources and economic development of El Salvador through ICT education, and especially the Ministry, which is in charge of this particular project is oriented towards the Education for general public and young citizens, this center will take the responsibility and empower the growth engine of El Salvador, Finally hope that the two countries will be reborn as closer neighbors through diverse communication and cooperation through the center.“
